A big chapter of the French enduro story has been closed yesterday with the end of one of the first and most popular series in the country, the Urge 1001 Enduro Tour. Created in 2007 by 1001sentiers, this series has organized over one hundred of races on the Riviera over the last 12 years and brought amazing riding and racing on the iconic trails of the Maritime Alps to thousands of riders. It has also been a precious school for lot of young French talents who made their class on the Urge 1001 Enduro Tour before reaching the world scene, like Florian Nicolaï (4 times winner of the series) or Alex Cure (1 title). And no matter they are now frequenting professionally the EWS, they continued to take part regularly of these local races, for fun, training, friendliness and good trails.
