2022, a special year for Val d'Allos because the mythic Tribe 10000 celebrate its 20th edition! For such an anniversary edition, Alex Balaud the enduro series organizer and winner of the third and fourth editions invited many people that allowed the birth of such a mythic race. Including Alex's brother William winner of the 2nd edition in 2004, and Fred Glo the father of the Tribe 10000, was there too, to share this moment with the big family of enduro MTB.
Now let's start the chairlift, it is time to race.
This second French Enduro Cup of the season started under a bright sky, which stays all weekend long. As usual, many categories were represented, from both by ages and sex. With a minime category since last year, which means that enduro racing at the french cup is now open from 12 years old, many young guns were excited to race and the 40 places allowed were out of stock early during the online registrations. Their race was only on Saturday with the same stages as their elders. They just started stage 3 from the middle. A good day for the kids with a big smile on all their faces.
On the other hand no eBike this weekend as the EWS-E was occurring on the other side of the "Col des champs" just one hour driving to the other valley in Valberg.
At the end of the first day, Dimitry Tordo took the lead cumulating 26'25.36 of racing time. Albin Cambos was less than a second behind. Third was the impressive 16 years old Raphael Giambi.
Guillaume Larbeyou leader of the series was 6th. In the Women's field, the battle was tight, Charlotte Rey and Julie Duvert ending the Saturday with 2 seconds between each other after 30 minutes of racing.
As the result were really tight, the leaders have almost everything to do on Sunday. In the Men field, Dimitri Tordo was able to take some air in front, finish with a 14 seconds of lead on Albin Cambos after 53 minutes of racing. Guillaume Larbeyou succeeded in coming back on the third step of the podium. Followed by Eliott Baud, and Raphael Giambi who is 5 scratch and first Cadet. Julie Duvert finally wins the race in the Women category, taking the win while she had only a 1 second of lead before last stage. In the Junior field, Enzo Perez and Melina Damestoy dominate the race. While in the Master: Gregory Gaspard wins Master 1, and Camille Lepley Master 2
The next Enduro Series is on July 16 and 17 in Risoul.
