PRESS RELEASE: Ride Concepts

Ride Concepts is excited to announce our entry into Canada, backed by a native athlete team and a multiyear Whistler Bike Park partnership.

The Ride Concepts line of progressive bike footwear can be found this summer in premium bike dealers, beginning in Whistler Village, as well as available to ship via a new Canadian website showcasing the brand and athletes at www.ca.rideconcepts.com.

A team of athletes has been assembled to fly the Canadian flag. “With bringing the party north, we wanted to show support to our beloved Canadian friends by having a legit athlete team based in Canada,” said Team Manager Paul Basagoitia. Geoff Gulevich, KC Deane, and grom squad sender Dane Jewett will be competing and filming this summer in Canada and beyond, spreading the 'Ride Every Day' culture. “This team encompasses everything the country is celebrated for in regards to mountain biking,” said Basagoitia, a two-time Crankworx Slopestyle champion.

“I’m beyond excited to join the Ride Concepts family!” said Gulevich. “The shoes are up to my standards in technology and comfort, allowing me to ride with highest confidence.”

Our riders mean business too, proven by none other than the godfather of freeride, Wade Simmons. Wade joins the Ride Concepts team not only on the bike, but also during his day job with BC-based Switchback Sports Canada Inc., who have added Ride Concepts to their sales agency portfolio of respected Canadian-based brands.

Summer 2019 also kicks off a 3-year commitment to Whistler Bike Park as the official footwear sponsor. Whistler’s patrollers, guides, coaches and trail crew will be outfitted with Ride Concepts footwear and weekly Phat Wednesday race series winners will receive prize packs. “Whistler holds a special place in our hearts,” said Rick Reed, Brand Manager for Ride Concepts. “Partnering with the best bike park in the world is huge for us as a new company. We’re focused on building the best mountain bike footwear so it’s a perfect fit. After a long winter we’re looking forward to sunset laps and high fives on Garbo, while gathering product feedback from the Whistler crew.”

I’d say my RC Wildcats quality, stiffness, and stickiness are legit. This is the first shoe I can see liking better than 5-10’s, but the season is only starting so we’ll see.
