PRESS RELEASE: The Ex Enduro

The Ex enduro, presented by DMR Bikes, is back for 2018 for three days of unforgettable British singletrack and lashings of fine food and drink.

The one-of-a-kind mountain bike weekend will take place on Exmoor on the 14 - 16th September 2018, based just outside Minehead.

Open to just 80 riders, the Ex brings the multi-day, multi-stage enduro epic back home to the UK. It treats riders to three big days with plenty of timed stages, unforgettable scenery and gorgeous singletrack in the hills around Minehead in Somerset.

More than just a race, the Ex is an adventure filled with punishing climbs, beautiful trails and stunning descents on some of the least ridden trails in the country. the Ex is as much about sharing a long climb with a new riding buddy and sharing a beer around the fire as it is about actual racing.



The Ex will take place over three days and challenge riders to plenty of leg-frying climbs and white-knuckle bombing downhills. There’s a beautiful mix of tight-and-technical and flat-out moorland galloping that guarantees to put a grin on any riders face.

There’s also plenty of food stops including the now legendary vintage tea stops and the very welcome cliff-top Beer and Ice Cream van.

The complete route is over 100km with 20+ timed stages. To make life just a little easier, each day will start with an uplift to get the first big climb done and spare those legs.

When you’re done, each day will end with a slap-up meal, beer from Bristol Beer Factory and a bit of a knees-up to celebrate.


Entries for the Ex open on 3rd April 2018 and are available to just 80 riders. Pre-registered riders will get a 48-hour head-start and will be able to enter from 1st April. Pre-register here http://the-ex.co.uk/pre-register.

If entries are left after the pre-registration wave is complete, they’ll be made available to the public on 3rd April.

Headline sponsors DMR Bikes helped co-found the Ex and will be at the heart of the event, complete with the DMR Sled and pro-riders Ben Deakin and Jono Jones (last year’s winner no less!).
