Pump for Peace: Breaking Down Barriers with Cycling
The Pump for Peace Racing Team is in Scotland, Endura’s own backyard, for the UCI World Championships this week hitting the trails in and around Glentress Forest across the three cross-country disciplines for their national teams:
• Faranak Partoazar (Iran), Elite Short Track, Elite Cross-country Olympic
• Tumelo Makae (Lesotho) Elite Marathon, Eliite Cross-country Olympic
• Unathi Nxumalo (South Africa) U23 Cross-country Olympic
We headed out to the Lenzerheide round of the UCI MTB World Cup to find out more about the riders and the team before they headed to Enduraland.
The team was founded in 2022 by former professional marathon specialist and multiple Cape Epic winner Ariane Lüthi and former downhill pro and founder of Velosolutions and its social project Pump for Peace Claudio Caluori. The team is managed by Ariane and Andrea Raemy, who worked for Pump for Peace in its early stages, while Claudio assists the team with his network and by managing sponsorship relations. The team has already been hard at work breaking down barriers for future generations of mountain bikers from challenging circumstances, something that Endura passionately believes in too.
What in the blazes is Enduraland? Let the
