PRESS RELEASE: Endura Sport Things to Do During the 2023 UCI Cycling World ChampionshipsLivingston, Scotland, 1st of August 2023: As the first ever UCI Cycling World Championships are heading to Scotland in August, Endura welcomes you and the cycling world to their homeland. Scotland’s outstanding natural environment informs everything Endura does, who they are, and their products, so they can create the perfect gear to help you take on the trails or roads.
Get into the Scottish SpiritEndura’s “Enduraland” campaign welcomes the world to its homeland of Scotland through a range of activations, adverts, video edits, and social media and website content. Endura’s Scottish heritage is the red thread that runs through all these campaign elements – a celebration of cycling in Scotland. The campaign video, which launches today, kicks off with an auld bodach dragging himself through a Highland bog to give some advice on Scottish riding.
Meet Endura's SuperstarsNine of Endura’s talented roster of mountain bike athletes are due to race at Nevis Range (downhill), Glentress Forest (cross country), and Glasgow (track). Revie a Forgotten LegendExperience some Scottish cycling history. Endura has recreated Kirkpatrick Macmillan’s pedal bicycle from 1839, reputedly the first of its kind. The bike - a modern re-imagination of the original made from wood – has been brought to life by a unique manufacturing partnership between Ullapool-based boat builder Tim Loftus, an expert in woodwork craftsmanship, and experienced bicycle manufacturer Steven Shand in Falkirk.
On Thursday 10th of August, the bike will travel from Thornhill to Glasgow (a route Macmillan allegedly rode almost two decades ago in 1842) with Endura athletes, led by Mikayla Parton, and special guests taking part. Head to the finish at the Riverside Museum, Glasgow, to see the bike – and the celebrities – up close.
Welcome to Enduraland. C'mon ahead!
