This was after about 5 days in the hospital. I finally had my first shower since surgery and the colour was going away. It is still swollen but that is also some of the surgery side effects.
This is a PICC line. I am not sure what it stands for but to me it means scary. It is a direct line that enters under your arm and goes all the way into your heart. Anitbiotics are reall bad for your viens and this helps reduce the impact. Besides, it cuts back on making me look like a junkie.
Ok... I think I look a bit scared in this picture. I was admitted in the afternoon and Marina Percy came from Vancouver to bring me some food and make me feel better. I was really shaken up.
This really is both of my feet. Infections spread quickly and efficiently. If it wasn't for a few good nurses and a great surgeon, it could have got out of hand.
When doing serious steep DH in hairy sections, ride a DH bike. Slopestyle's are fun to ride but I have to say there is nothing like a long travel machine to help you through the rough stuff. Broken Tibia, severed ACL and torn meniscus... Nice.

Ok... the orange is actually Tumeric and I wrapped my leg in DMSO with GLS and Tumeric. It stained my leg but I have to say, it is what healed it enough to be walking in a week or so and I was able to train and ride my bike to become strong enough to recover quick from surgery. I am not a Dr. and DMSO is for animal use only.
