Here we have two ends of the manufacturing line for the traditional orange downhill bike. The 222 is a 2003 version and the evo 224 is a 2012 version. They both have a different wheel base as you can see, and the pivot location has changed. On riding both of them i have to say stability is better with the longer wheel base, if you point the 224 down a steep bank or around a sharp ish corner at speed it tends to hold a little better, although we did have different tyres on both bikes but i still thought the long wheel base worked better. The pedalling is the same ish, but you cant really compare them for this as ive found performance comes down to the suspension set-up with single pivots
