Cut down my stock 780mm wide 25mm rise bars to 750mm and put those and my 50mm stem on the wifes Rockhopper. She likes them much better than her 70mm stem with the 700mm flat bars she had stock.
Specialized 2015 Rockhopper Expert EVO 650b - 1*10 - shiny thing is SR Suntour XCR-AIR 120 mm travel w/ rebound control and lockout - probably the first thing to change next as replacing this with rigid one will save about 2 kgs of weight (down to about 11). Still undecided.
Specialized 2015 Rockhopper Expert EVO 650b - stock front disc (180 mm) and Tectro Gemini hydraulic break - one of the best of stock components along with rear derailleur.
Stock wheel of Specialized 2015 Rockhopper Expert EVO 650b - Groung Control 2.3 inch tires on Stout XC wheels - 26mm inner widht - very heavy but durable
Specialized 2015 Rockhopper Expert EVO 650b - 1*10 - front derailleur removed and N/W 30t chainring fitted - perfect for my condition, terrain and riding style - the bike's overall look is improver IMO also. Pedals are Specialized Bennies platforms - not very light but extremely durable.
Went old school and converted the wifes Rockhopper over to single ring in the front with a bash guard. I used this cool little B Labs C.Guide Eco chain tensioner as a little insurance. Gives some more tension, makes it quieter, and it now has more teeth engagement on the front ring. She even says it feels like it shifts a little nicer.
