This question is an example of push polling to support Mike Levy's anti climb switch agenda. Given the choice anyone would prefer to not use a switch. However, the benefit of the switch is that when paired with an efficient pedaling platform it can improve pedaling efficiency further than the platform alone.

This question has too little information, does having a shock with switch mean better suspension performance? Otherwise, it's really simple, I'd go with efficient pedaling system.

Any suspension efficient pedaling uphill probably means you will lose some performance downhill. I'd much rather have a less compromised system with a little switch to flick. Hello TwistLoc!

I would want my suspension to be limited on descents. I would rather struggle a little more on the climbs.
