This bike is Amazing. The geometry is perfect for extreme XC. I say this because it has the ability to climb and it's quick in the turns, but it is very easy to bunny hop and is stiff for a chromolly frame. The drop outs are a little sketchy. I personally like running my mountain bikes with gears, so I would have preferred vertical drop outs, but I have a DT swiss rear hub with a QR thru-axle, so the replaceable drop outs don't really affect me, thankfully. I also wish it came with water bottle mounts on the frame for my light battery so I could go on some night rides. Those are the only two problems I see with the bike. It is my favorite ride to date, and I've had a lot of bikes. Great value!

Ok, have to be honest. I have not ridden mine yet. Just got it in yesterday and I will update my review once I get some saddle time. But I have to say that the black frame is truly a sexy looking bike, it is almost a pearlescent. Not bad weight at all for a cromo frame and you get the added cushion for those longer rides. I am dying to get on this bike... just waiting for parts. They now have ISO tabs and IMO the tabs used for mounting a rear dérailleur are easy to use! Sure its a bit of a pain... but with the option of single speed... you can't complain.

(Edit: I have now had my TransAM for a month or two and this bike blows me away every time I ride it! It is definitely not the lightest build nor the lightest frame but it still climbs like a beast. I recently got a new DH bike and I thought that the DH rig would get all my ride hours... but I still find myself craving an AM ride every week. This bike is 100% kick ass and YOU need one

I would recommend this bike to anyone looking for a true all mountain bike that can handle it all or a beefy XC hard tail.)

This bike has felt perfect for anything. From jumping to pedaling it does it great. I would only second think trying serious downhill and big, vertical and tight dirtjumps on this. The design of having the rear axle go through the derailer hanger and the dropout makes for an annoying time taking off the rear wheel.

It is a great bike all around. You get the versatility of an all mountain bike, without having to be weighed down in the back with all the extra links and shock. Another great thing is that you can power uphills fairly easily.

I love it, i am 5'7" and got the small...150mm fork and it is so easy to climb up to take those awesome downs.
