Marin Mount Vision 9

 I am going to leave this review even though I technically don't ride a Mount Vision 9. I ride a Marin Mount Vision 8 and that is similar enough. The main difference being the suspension package and the brakes. After just a few trail rides I can already tell I picked the right bike. It has the perfect amount of travel, kinda a goldilock of some sort. 200mm being the most travel and 100mm being the least travel. It sits right in the middle with 150mm travel from and rear, very balanced. It has larger tires which I like. The 2.6 makes a really soothing sound when on the street, I really do enjoy it like car people enjoy exhaust sounds. The wheels are also sort of the goldilock wheels. 27.5+ so it's not too small and not too big. The bike is heavy for a full carbon rig but you can easily lift it with one hand if you are not a vegan. The air shaft in the rear of the bike that makes up the r3act 2 play system balance the weight nicely. So it's not front heavy like other bikes. And talking about the R3act 2 play system, it gives the bike a weird look, and that same look attracted me, I do prefer my bike to not look like a trek. And the aesthetic is very visually pleasing to me, the bike has beautiful lines I can stare at for hours.
Talking about pedaling: This bike pedals like a hardtail. And I don't mean it feels as efficient as a hardtail. It has ZERO pedal bob. On the street when I am out of saddle sprinting, the suspension doesn't move at all even with out a lock out. But in the pumpy section it is so much fun that I can not stop grinning (I am not paid by Marin to say this).
Pros:
It is by no means cheap, but I feel like 3750 for the Mount Vision 8 and 4900 for the Mount Vision 9 (Both very unique looking bikes with amazing paint jobs) are right on the money. (I'm pretty sure Marin lowered the price because they weren't selling for some reason).
The bike has heritage and it evolved into something different and mind blowing.
Cons:
When I say cons they aren't really cons, they are more like my personal issue.
1. my Pike RC fork has minor suck down (the final 5% travel returns insanely slow, and it's not the rebound adjuster)
2. The rim tape is not tubeless ready, made that mistake and it was not fun at all, but I can't fault the bike for this.
3. I sometimes hit the side of my left knee on the top tube which is quite weird and not a problem I have at all
4. On my Mount Vision 8 the shock is quite a bad spec. Should have gone with the super deluxe.
But other than that, it is a goldilock dream bike. I want to thank you if you made it this far, hopefully it helped you. It rides like no other and looks like no other.
