Quite good grip in almost every terrain, but not really good on any track. It lasts for a long time, great allround tire with little rolling resistance, but it's not what you're searching for any specific terrain or races. I'd recommend it for everyday riding, especially if you have to commute few miles to your riding spot.
Great on and off road, only problem i had was in loose gravel but not many XC tyres are going to be much good in those sort of conditions!

Bead Type - there are two main types. Kevlar/Folding Bead (lighter and ca be folded so riders can put them in their jersey pocket or hydration pack incase they rip their sidewall) and Wire/Steel Bead (heavier, cheaper, not as strong or portable, and more difficult to mount on a rim).
