TrekSession 88 FR

 bought the bike: first off, its insanely light out of the box, its perfectly balanced, the evo link makes it super stiff and handle very well. i dont think i am going to need to change anything! questioned the strength of the wheels at first, but they are bombproof upon testing!

 Awesome ride...hero bike.

pros: light, flickable yet stable, great components, awesome suspension

cons: frame seems too light (only time will tell), the big earl pedals (too big), the big earl tires don't like mud

my riding has ability has increased 100% with this bike, maybe it is a mental thing, but it gives me more balls that's for sure.

 This bike has the whole package.
Lightweight, but still strong & fantastic handling, breaking and suspension.

I've riddin it for quite some time now. And 100% pleased!
It's a out-of-the-box winning machine.


The Measure of All Bikes

The Shore special. A gravity sled machine. Andrew Shandro's go-to park bike. Whatever you want to call it, the Session 88 FR is engineered with one thing in mind: highly technical downhill riding. With a freeride-specific component spec like the RockShox Totem, Shimano Saint and Fox DHX 4.0, the Session 88 FR can hit the stunts that make your spine tingle, the drops that make you drool and the berms that bring a smile to your face.

 This bike is unreal, i have more of a race setup on mine and man this thing can go! It rails turns better than anything i have ever ridden. My only complaint is the loud squeaking of the saint breaks, If anyone knows how to get those thing to quiet down a bit please toss one in my inbox! Other than that great bike and i am stoked to have one!

 Simply awesome. The ABP suspension is second to none, always active no matter what the terrain, even under braking. Angles are perfect for stability, speed and handling. Limitless travel, fully floating design, always active. Inspires confidence. It's light as well, weight is similar to the average all mountain bike. Ignore what people say about the frame being tinny, yes it's definitely thinner than some bikes but it's bombproof for the average rider. Put it this way, most people won't ever approach the limits of this bike, let alone go beyond. Can't recommend it enough.

Only downside is the noise from the Saint brakes. Awesome brakes but noisy as a freight train. Whether that's related to the frame design perhaps, but i've heard other people have noisy Saint's on other bikes.

Bontrager Big Earl fixing kit isn't bad either, ok it's not Sunline but it's everything you need and it's well made, light, strong and very user friendly. Even the standard Bontrager Big Earl tires are good, actually I'd say on this bike they are as good as Minions, was going to swap out the moment I got the bike but like the progressive nature of the tyre, hard wearing as well.

Pity they don't make this freeride version any more, but if you are considering a Session, do it, you won't regret it!

 While I am not a fan of the Totem this is amazing. I have mine set up with a Boxxer WC because the DH version was sold out. Good things to come from Trek if this is their first "real" attempt at the freeride/DH market.

 Pros: Very Good Looking And Great Handling. It Is Great For Downhill, Freeride, Urban Freeride and Trail Riding.

Cons: The Mission Control On The RockShox Totem Completely Disables After About A Month Of Regular Use.

 I have a session 7 and although this bike is not light...40# area...you can pound on it for all it's worth...the frame is seemingly bulletproof and the groupo backs up that claim

 Awesome bike, super light but can still handle the big stuff, easily the most perfect bike for a little bit of everything gravity!

 Love this bike, my mate has one, it rides really well and has well good sensitivity!! So fast! Forks are alto of maintaince though

 SAINT! DH bike and its light.

Wheels are too light. Double cross lace. Lost spokes every ride.

Everything else is great.

 The person that won red bull rampage used the trek session so that explains a lotg

 Very sweet bike great handling, it takes corners with ease and is very fast and nimble, extremely light to.

 So lite! very responsive, sick bike.

 Amazing bike for the bike park,light and very easy to move in the air
