Whistler Bike Park

Hey everyone, I have been to Whistler Bike park for the first time in my life, and certainly not the last. I always like sharing this story with everyone I talk to and everyone I meet. It is not a checklist on Santa's list, but rather a journey. I work at a bike shop myself and whenever the story comes up I say the same thing, "It was the most incredible experience in my entire life". Nothing has come close to what I felt in Whistler. I had everything I need, my bike, my girlfriend, and my family. I could not imagine having this feeling without them. The only thing that was truly missing was more time. I wish I could have ridden squamish on my santa cruz bronson, or my soon to bee s-works enduro. I truly wish I was a Whistler local. They honestly live the best riding in all the world. I wish I would have had a trail bike and no parents when I experienced Whistler. I would have personally stopped in Norcal and ridden the santa cruz mountain range. I have a friend that goes to school in this area that would have shown me the ropes. Although my dad was on a mission to arrive in Whistler asap. I you let me know I will send you the awesome/random picture that Matt and myself took during the ride up. I can tell you we both experienced some things that would only be known as out Whistler trip. I would have like to expierenced the whole trip with different members of my life/bike shop but life complications would be an outcome. If someone had one opportunity in life to experience mountain biking. I would honestly say Whistler bike park was not a trip or something you do to your normal bike park (for me that is Mammoth bike park which is amazing) it is an experience that you will remember throughout your entire life. As I said before it is not an experience it is a lifestyle and an event you will remember throughout ones entire life. I rode 1/3rd of one of 2 mountains and feel like I barely scratched the surface of what the journey has to offer. I had four riding days and seven living days there. I still know that I could have had 4 months of riding and still would not have experienced what I expected from Whistler. Besides what the bike park has to offer I feel truly unsatisfied not riding the truly magnificent trail and DH riding that Whistler and Squamish had to offer. This part of the world has to offer more than any other part of this globed. Unless you live there and even if you live there, there will never be a rider that conquers everything that can be offered by this small area of BC. Not even mentioning Costal Gravity Park and Kamloops, this small section of the world can use the most experienced rider summer months and still leave him or her wanting more. The atmosphere I felt while in town was like no other. I can talk to any person I the village and become a close friend because we were all here for one goal and that was shredding. Fast forward to the lift after my buddy ripped his leg open (that was another story) I was on the lift with some frenchmen that happen to drop on of their glove on the lift ride up. It happened to be one of my last rides to the top obviously (since my riding bro was down) I gave him my Cam Zink edition TLD gloves since I got them cheap. He dropped one of his gloves during the ride up. I usually dont ride gloves unless im bike parkin but It was my last day and ulitmately we were all there for the experience. We did a 22 hour drive they must have did a 22hr flight. So for me to give them to him was worth it #SFP. I could honestly say that what any one experiences is different from the next every run had its own unique feel that I can spend all summer riding and not feel satisfied with. Whistler is something that you can ride for five years and maybe feel like you conquered the mountain. But in the deep dark thoughts of your mind you only have ridden the lines that millions before you have ridden. There are zones that only the craziest of crazy drop into, that most people say they can do but they ride past hundreds of times without accomplishing. I saw things that magazines have never published cause they are so lost in the hills and locals only ride. One of the hands down most dissapointing things that I experienced was Top of the World being closed/unopened. I literally dreamed about riding through all four seasons of Whistler thoughout this trail and thought I was going to drop in and fell the whole world pass me by. I didint get to. I woke put my windbreaker on and planned on dropping in with snow at the top and passing all four seasons on the way down. I always dreamed that my wedding would be atop of Whister. All my groomsmen would drop into Top of the World and take their tuxedo's though all four seasons. It will always be my dream since my father in law would like a traditional wedding in a church. I would kill for for a drop in, with full tuxedos to change and up the game. Whistler only experienced me for four days of riding my buddy matt rode 5 which ulitmately makes me jealous because I would have ditched my GF if I can change history to rided another day in Whistler. I regret living the nightlife in Whistler though. Everything is popping and everyone is ready to enjoy the life they have been given. I would honestly give my bike to ride another day in this incredible world that Whistler offers. I went 186% in Whistler and upped my game. I did things I would have not done in Mammoth just because they were in Whistler. I could not have done this without meeting the "Claw". He photo opped with me and got my pumped to send thing I would not have sent locally. The shops in the village are working to put you back on the trail asap. I eventually blew up a derail because my b-limit on my demo 8, but the homie at eh bike shop, not fanatyic hooked it up for 5$ saved the day before my second spagetthi factory dinner. (Cheapest drinks in the village). I will say that I dont remember what I have written in the previous page but If I were you an I will do it right the second time, spend a week coming up to Whistler and sped 2-3 weeks at the the venue to enjoy it. There is no way that any other amount of time will allow a rider to experience what Whistler has to offer. You my HMU to find out what you need to do. Because what you live at Whistler will be a driving force for the rest of your mountain bike career. I would rather you bother me than not experience what needs to be felt at Whislter. There are so many things that I would change for myself and I would rather you know these things rather than learn your self the first of second time going. This is clearly not a trip, but an experience of a lifetime. I wrote alot and 99% of people wont read it. But ulitmetly that will protect the local only's trails HMU if you are interested in the real expereince. See you 2015-2016 Whistler see you for atleast 20 days.
Love Aaron
you will always be the world I hope to live in
P.S. If my GF leaves me Ima move to Whistler or become a Navy Seal/ most likey move to Whistler.
