Cam s Jam Tour - Valmont Colorado

Its on! Cam McCaul will be dropping in on the locals at the Valmont Bike Park in Boulder, Colorado this coming Monday, July the 27th. The idea behind the jam is to bring together the local riders and celebrate the bike park in an easy ol' fashioned family gathering setting. Just simple good times, some friendly camaraderie, and a pot luck style afternoon to round out a big weekend in Colorado. The jam is the day after the Colorado Freeride Fest in Winter Park, Colorado so anticipate to see some hungry locals looking to sending it. Expect an impromptu high air comp, some prizes for the unanimous best line, best trick, and best grom throughout the evening. Let your friends know and come get rad!

Below is a good preview of the Valmont Bike Park from the grand opening back in the Summer of 2011.

I hope events like this bring spotlight to how great these bike parks can be for the local community. I'd love to see Ruby Hill finally break ground at some point. The amount of red tape that has to be cleared for these to become a reality is astounding, not to mention the sheer amount of dirt moved and volunteer labor hours. I once spent an entire day hand-building a single berm at Valmont. Hats off to all the people behind the scenes that helped make Valmont a reality, and those working for other bike parks yet to be built.

Ironically right after I move across town. Used to be in biking distance. =/ The plans look sweet though. Hopefully it will be worth the drive.

Oh! I ride valmont at least twice a week, but I wish I could do a simple barspin to have any hope of winning something, let's see if I can learn it in a week
