Even if spring is already around the corner, many of us are not able to catch sunlight after work. Not everyone can leave the office at 4 p.m. to use the last hours of sunshine and make the forests unsafe in daylight.

A good and reliable helmet lamp is recommended for all those who can not leave the bike in the garage after work. Often you see people with a lamp on the handlebar or with two lamps, where the stronger of both is attached to the handlebar again - that doesn't make much sense. A strong and reliable lamp on the head / helmet is suggested and enough. If you can't do it without a small fog lamp on the handlebar, you can mount a second lamp for safety, if one lamp fails. But the stronger one definitely should be attached to the helmet .

Shredding trails with headlights isn't for everyone. But it strengthens vision and focus for riding. Everything that is not covered by the light is faded out bythe brain and you can concentrate on the essential things - the line you want to follow. It is advisable to choose Nightride trails that you have already ridden in daylight to avoid unpleasant situations. Heels and roots appear different due to the play of light and shadow, and often seam to be smaller than during the day.

For safety's sake you should never play alone in the forest at night. Because if something happens here, it can take a long time to be found in an emergency. And the cell phone network is often not the best in forests. So don't forget your buddys.

With the current situation due to the corona pandemic, you should limit yourself to the most necessary things anyway. It is very difficult to live without cycling completely, but you should avoid turning up in large groups and also minimize the risk of accidents. So avoid big stunts, action-packed descents or new experiments. The hospitals are definitely busy enough and cannot tolerate unnecessary patients. If you can't leave it, you should take some gas out. If you can't do this or if you have fear and doubts, you should better leave the bike in the garage at the moment. Likewise, group formation should be avoided, since we want to get rid of the virus as quickly as possible, and thus can return to normal conditions as quickly as possible. Stay Safe!
