Diary of an Ol' Man

Hey, hey, PBers. It has been a while since I splattered meaningless signifiers on here, so apologies. I hope that many of you, like me, are getting ready for the outdoor riding season. Here in the Seattle area last Monday, we enjoyed sun and 68-degree temps. Spent the day street riding with shorts and a t-shirt on. Awesome! (Of course, the next day brought chilly wind and rain. Ha!)

I just put on my new Spike 50mm stem and 727 bars. They are both incredible pieces of gear. The bicycle industry has really come a long way since my early days of Schwinn Stingrays. It's funny, but now as an older rider, I don't worry anymore about breaking parts; I worry about breaking me! Ha!

So, what's up with the picture, you ask? (Well, you probably didn't ask, but what the hay...) I am hoping to connect with more riders on PB, especially dirt jumpers in the Seattle area. Reach out, people! Put some stuff on your profile! Let's make this a wonderful community of like-minded riders. I love reading and seeing what many of you are up to. It inspires this ol' guy to keep getting out there and trying to fly like a birdie. Take the 10 year old in my current featured POD; that lil' guy is pulling a serious can-can. Yikes! What's my problem?! Just gotta go for it and see what happens...

Sunshine is a comin', PBers. Keep positive thoughts and if you get a moment, say a prayer for the victims of our Oso mudslide here in Arlington. Such a travesty. I hope it reminds us to celebrate life as we have it. Things can change in the blink of an eye...

All the best and ride safe!
