Sam Reynolds and crew are back and on the ground in South Africa, getting ready to bring you the this years instalment of
Darkfest. The event has been moved to slightly earlier in the year to try and harness some of the summer sun and longer days to allow for longer riding windows.
Sam is joined by Theo Erlangsen and The Trails Crew - Justin Novella and Duran Van Eeden, two locals that cut their teeth building on the very same mountainside as the Darkfest course, to perfect on the worlds gnarliest Freeride course and after the craziness of the world record backflip last year, we can’t wait to see what happens on the biggest jump ever in competition, the 110 footer, at this years event.
The classic line-up of riders you’ve come to know over the last few years will be in attendance, whilst there will also be some new faces in both the male and female categories, joining to throw down on this one-of-a-kind course. Watch for the full official rider list to be announced soon!
Keep an eye on Sam’s YouTube channel and the Darkfest Instagram page for regular updates on the build and all the goings-on in the lead up to the event week!
Sam and the build crew waste no time in getting to work
The Darkfest safari wagon makes watering the jumps and getting around the mountainside a little easier
With this years event taking place at the height of the South African summer, this is surely to be a regular sight
The 110ft & 90ft jumps side by side - yes, still just as insane as last year...
Once tools are down, it'd be rude not to take the opportunity to ride the legendary Hellsend trails - conveniently located right next door
