Installing Rimpact

so i decided to install some tire inserts on my lapierre GLP 3 E-bike. i went for Rimpact original 2. i chose these as they were a good price £60 for the set, Rimpact do offer a E-bike insert but im not the heaviest rider so went with the cheaper option


Lets just say this was a lot of hard work i had no idea what i was doing to be honest. the hardest part was getting the bead of the tire under the insert and into the shallow part of the rim. doing this gives you more slack in the tire making reinstalling it a thousand times easier. If your planning on installing a insert Rimpact, Cushcore or what ever i would highly recommend getting some seriously strong tire leavers. during the install i destroyed 3 leavers, admit ably they were cheap ones i didn't buy i just acquired them from somewhere.

after fitting the rear one as can be seen in the video i fitted the front one and this was a much easier task. this was made easier by using better levers and a tip i saw where you start off by having the tire off the wheel with the insert inside the tire ans then starting off by making sure the tire is under the insert and then getting this onto the rim and then using a strap to keep it on the rim and then going around the rim installing the rest of the tire keeping the tire under the insert. another good tip is finishing at the valve as here you will have a bit of clearance as the valve will be pushing up the insert a tiny amount
