The Kali Road Warrior Was Here

The Kali Road Warrior was a welcome sight at each of the 2017 California Enduro Series Golden Tour events. An affable fixture on the mountain biking event circuit, Cedar Kyes — the Road Warrior himself — never fails to spread the stoke about Kali and mountain biking in general. Kyes’ passion and knowledge are an inspiration to all who connect with him. He’s the ideal figurehead for Kali’s Race Support Program, which provides demo helmets at no charge to participants of events the Road Warrior attends.

The premise behind the Kali Road Warrior Race Support Program is simple: Crashes happen, but they don’t have to take you out of the game. When a racer’s helmet is damaged in a crash during race practice or the race itself, the Road Warrior comes to the rescue with a Kali demo helmet offered to the racer at no charge. Kali is committed to providing riders the best protection possible and ensuring that riders can continue to compete safely without worrying about their helmet.

Kyes explains that the program is a great way for Kali Protectives to connect with the riders who put their trust in Kali products when laying it all out on the line. He says, “Providing support for my fellow riders is always a good feeling. I want to see everyone be able to get up, dust themselves off, and get back on the bike as quickly as possible after a crash. I know that Kali is working tirelessly to develop the safest helmets out there so that you can continue to charge hard with confidence.”

Currently, the program is limited to the west coast of the US; however, Kali plans to launch the Road Warrior and Race Support Program in other territories. Kyes says, “I am honored to be a part of the program and I look forward to seeing it grow and evolve as Kali blazes new trails in helmet technology and safety gear.”

The Road Warrior Race Support Program is just one part of a bigger Kali initiative — the Lifetime Crash Replacement (LCR) Program. If you own a Kali bicycle helmet and unfortunately damage it in a crash, Kali will replace that helmet for free. Kali's Marketing Manager Patrick Ribera-McKay says, "If a rider crashes in a Kali helmet, we do not want that person to question whether or not he or she should replace it. If it is damaged, we will replace it."

To take advantage of LCR, riders only need to register their helmets online. Following a crash, a rider can file a claim, ship their crashed helmet back to Kali, and Kali will replace it for the cost of shipping. Ribera-McKay adds, "There is more to this program than just getting riders back on the bike with a fresh helmet; we actually want your crashed helmets. Our engineers study every crashed helmet, analyze how it performed in the crash, and use that knowledge to make better helmets."
