Source: Innerleithen MTB RacingThe final round of the Innerleithen Mini DH was a massive success on Sunday with a record entry of 80 riders aged 10-16 taking part and loving it!
Read on for more:Riders came from as far afield as Inverness in the north and Keswick in the south to ride the fantastic mini course designed by the team from i-Cycles. Good weather has luckily been a running theme of these events and Sunday followed this plan to the letter, keeping the course dry and dusty with just enough challenge from the route through the trees.
In the Girls race new face Erin Maguire won her first race, she will certainly be a name to watch. Blair Aitchison won the Boys 15-16, Niall Morrison the Boys 13-14 and the Boys 10-12 ended up in a photo finish, but we didn't have a camera so declared a draw between Adam Hughes and James Purvis.
These have been brilliant events, with the riders having a great time and honing their racing and riding skills. Innerleithen MTB Racing would like to thank all those who have helped, McKays of Edinburgh for sponsorship, i-Cycles for the course, Tweed Valley Bike Patrol and the Glentress Trail Faeries for helping with marshalling, i-Cycles for the courses and Scottish Cycling for coaching sessions. And last of all, most importantly, the Lavendar Trust for the BBQ and cakes.
