International Videography Experiment

Pinkbike is a massive network of bike addicts.

Some ride all day, some make movies and take pictures and some love to give a helping hand.

It's time to team up.For a while I've wanted to do something special with video.

I recently completed a 15minute production about the account of a young rider's perspective on Canberra as a 26" venue.

It was heaps of fun.

I wanna do something bigger though and it's difficult to source enough interesting content from my limited pool of resources here in Canberra.

On a similar note, has anyone noticed the problem with many videos? All the content seems to become monotonous. Videos vary dramatically from one another but no one seems to be able to encapsulate all the variety of mountain biking into one video.

The Answer:
A video which takes it's inspiration from the massive variety found in the sport of mountain biking and combines the talents of it's numerous participants.

The Plan:
The video will be made of a number of segments. Each segment showcasing a sample of the sport, varying riding disciplines, terrains and personalities. The goal is to create a quality insight into every aspect of mountain biking. By using the vastness of pinkbike as a base, contributors will be able to network, allowing experiences to be shared.

It's just idea at the moment but hopefully this little mission statement catches somebody's eye.

so here's how I see this all going down.

The main idea of this project is to develop diversity.

1.The best way I see this happening is if segments are divided among regional groups,
those who wish to contribute can team up with some mates and create a short segment showcasing the best they can offer, they will aim to not only exemplify riding skill but also cinematic technique and creative flair.

2.Once all contributors have created their segments they can be collated by a single party, whether this is myself or someone better suited. Another bonus of this approach is that the production won't collapse if, for whatever reason, one of the parties involved cannot continue.

3.The final product will be a film made of an entire range of diverse, and unique segments showing different riding, different places and different film styles.
