revamping my octane

Jul 17, 2008 at 6:13
by dan royle
doing up my tired looking scott octane 1999 into more of a downhill bike than XCday 1
started by spraying my marzocchi junior t 2001 (bought from micallef)
sanded down and did two coats of hammerite silver smooth as primer.
after leaving for a few hours to dry did 3 coats of ford velvet purple (metallic)
and left overnight to dry.

Day 2
not so good start today did one more coat of purple as i scratched the forks putting them away last night,
added my decals ready to lacquer the bike.
started lacquer and then disaster struck oversprayed one bit got a run and smudged the purple, currently waiting on the lacquer to dry so i can repair the smudge and do a final coat of lacquer.
once final coat of lacquer is done will up load a photo or two

also ordered news wheels today and gonna buy an a2z frame adaptor so i can put discs on the back as frmae does not support. if all goes well in a week i will have a much better bike than i currently have.

will upate blog again this evening
