Gawton day with Will today, 5/04/11. HSD a few times then we thought about what the f##k we were doin' and hit Super Tavi a couple times to get back into it. Wet wet wet and muddy was the going. Best time of the two was 3:04. Pretty shit by pro standards but considering the conditions and second run for over two years and light FR bike not too unhappy. Big burst of adrenelin for sure. Will got a big slap to the melon at the bottom! Not good, just unlucky.

Chalets for a couple of hours, 7/04/11. Bit of a relaxed session, mostly meeting some new bods there checking it all out. Leading in newbies is fun, sharing the stoke and pushing the limits for others. Nothing real special other than that.

Woodbury DJ for an hour A.M 8/04/11. Turned up to see the new build jumps, mostly virginous while they bed in. They've grown and multiplied! Liked the progression jumps you can do there before going for the main line (which I haven't done yet).
Good to learn distance/height you can get off the step ups and tabletop. Tried to find some good freeride lines off the drop off then into the little step down to tabletop to berm. Reckon the last double is the go next from the chicken run around main line before even thinking about mainline on a proper bike.

Woodbury DH for two hours PM 8/04/11. Back to DH in the arvo as clients cancelled. Developed how to get good times on the main dh line, pedal like f##k everywhere! 56 seconds from V tree standing start to post around all berms and jumps. That was 9 seconds faster than previous due to pedalling like f##k. Knacked by the bottom so fitness still an issue, back to the training and defo think that pushing up is not good as it tires you out for the main event too much, little in the way of opions on that one though.

Teign Valley - Fingle Bridge XC 30 minutes 10/04/11. Just had a quick ride along from the pub to the salmon traps with Padstow the dog. Basically it was a warm up and then into short intervals on undulating terrain. There's some great fast sections with natural rock gardens and plenty of roots, steps to fly and low berms to crank off of. With the downhill lines there (Drogo to fingle, junction woods and the old fort to fingle) it's a really great place to ride and to have the pub at the bottom of all of them it's just awesome to finish with a pint of Otter by the river.

Chalets again for two hours 11/04/11. Thrashing Teapot line again trying to get down nearer to 1:00. No dice today, best time 1:05 (PB 1:04). Finished off with a couple down the Dirty Fox before nearly totaling some idiot who was clearing stones from before the first hip ramp. WTF! Queer or what, twat was riding a wierd hard tail with massive seat and without a helmet, sweeping tiny f*ckin' stones from a part of the line where you don't even ride! Wanker.

Canonteign Woods for two hours 12/04/11. Nice to get back up there again, it's been over a year. Loved the dh runs down the berm line and the rock root. 1:26 and 1:02 respectively. Looked at the rock drop at the bottom, nice transition down there but not one to do on your own for the first time, lots to knock you out should it all go badly. Another couple of inches of sus would be good too as it's not exactly groomed flat into landing and out. Looked at some more possibilies over to the left with bigger rock drops and some really nice features for a freeride line, have to get the boys on it for some manpower to clear etc.

Chalets for two hours 18/04/11. Not really with it today. Just about making the doubles, falling here and there, didn't even make one time down teapot. Shite but nice day and nothing bad happened apart from my freezer broke.
