Video: Gonçalo Bandeira - The Wild Kid

Gonçalo Bandeira, is 12 years old, he's from Lousã, Portugal and has been showing us that he has the talent to be a great Downhill rider in all aspects.


He is from the centre of Portugal, Lousã to be exact, one of the greatest places in Portugal and in Europe for Downhill. Chosen by world cup teams to test their new products and to set up their season. Gonçalo started riding bikes at two years old, started Downhill at three and did his first race at five years old. With three older sisters riding bikes and with several national titles, they have been a great source of inspiration for him.

The kid never misses a chance to ride, he has passion for the sport, he likes to train and to learn with the best and he sees them as an example to follow like the actual national champion, Francisco Pardal, that beyond a good friend he has been a good teacher. The Portuguese people see Gonçalo as a strong candidate on the Portuguese and international riding scene and we intend to follow the evolution of the little Portuguese rider.

Gonçalo Bandeira, têm 12 anos, vive na Lousã, Portugal, e dá indicações de vir a ser um grande piloto de Downhill a todos os níveis.

Nasceu no centro de Portugal, mais propriamente na Lousã, um dos locais eleitos, ultimamente, por grandes equipas mundiais para testar novos produtos e prepararem as suas épocas. Gonçalo começou a andar de bicicleta aos dois anos, começou no downhill aos três e aos cinco fazia a sua primeira corrida. Com três irmãs mais velhas a praticarem a modalidade, onde conquistaram vários títulos nacionais, têm sido até aos dias de hoje uma forte inspiração e entusiamo para irmão mais novo da conhecida família portuguesa, a família Bandeira.

O puto perde uma única oportunidade para fazer uma descida, tem raça, gosta de treinar e aprender com os melhores, e vê neles um exemplo a seguir, como é o caso do actual Campeão Nacional, Francisco Pardal, que para além de um bom amigo, tem sido um bom professor. Os portugueses vêem em Gonçalo Bandeira um forte candidato a vingar no Downhill nacional e internacional, e nós vamos acompanhar todo o seu crescimento e evolução do “pequeno” piloto português.
