I’m Norbert Szász, 24 years old photographer from Hungary, Europe. I was born and still living in Budapest, the capital city of Hungary. We have a really small bike market in Hungary but there are a lot of really good riders. We don’t have big mountains and bike parks either, but there are a lot of (il)legal dirt and freeride spots in Hungary.
In 2008 I decided to make my own online magazine, called StandMagazin, because we didn’t have an extreme mountain bike magazine or website in those days. It was an online, digital magazine for two years but it got amazing feedback, then I decided to go out with free printed issues as well.
StandMagazine is the one and only free print magazine in Hungary dedicated to freeride mountain bikers. This quality magazine has been built by riders for riders and fills the long time need for media coverage of such a unique sport.
The printed issue 1. of the magazine was released in 2010. Since then, unfortunately the hungarian bike industry has continued to suffer financially. This has resulted in fewer companies being able to afford to advertise in print media, which is needed to help cover the enormous costs of producing and printing magazines.
We have a deep passion for StandMag so we work for free, and so have our generous photographic contributors. Our aim aim has always been to provide a premium quality medium by which the freeride community of the world can be brought together to comprise the "the international voice of freeride mountain biking". But we just need your help to help cover the cost of printing. If you can pledge to help the magazine, we'll do all the 'heavy lifting' to ensure StandMag worldwide is kept alive and thriving.
This is an absolutely no-risk deal. If we don't meet our funding target you pay nothing, but unfortunately we will no longer produce the magazine. So here's your chance to really get behind StandMag and blow it up!
The last two years we haven't got advertisers, so we can't print out the new issue, which is really sad because the riders really love it. It is a free mag so we don't earn money with it. We do that for the community in Hungary, not for the money.
With your help, I truly believe that this project will succeed and bring joy and memories to all who volunteer their time to educate and train our young athletes!
If we raise the funds, we print and support the hungarian riders with coverages.
Thank you very much!
