Philip Manning Update

Just when I thought spring was coming, I wake up to find a foot of snow outside. So, what better thing to do than go for a ride, get some photos, and update sponsors on my activity, however weather limited it may be.

Over the past few months, I have been doing a lot preparation work. This has included a lot of buiding. Besides the stunts in my backyard, I recently finished a new trick training dirt jump in this rad zone I found near my place. I'm looking foward to getting some serious time in on that, practicing and learning tricks. In the same zone, there is this rad stump which just needed to be ridden in one way or another. These things are going to be providing for some good video and photo material, so keep an eye out for this stuff soon.

Lately I've been brainstorming about how I could better take my riding in my own unique direction so I can better promote those who support me and define my own style. Aside from new videos and photos, which are coming your way soon, I have come up with three different concepts, two of which involve epic building in the forest. I'm keeping these ideas to myself for now, because they are long term projects and they may end up not working out. If they do work out, they probably won't come to fruition until after summer. I'm gonna go for it though, and see what happens.

More short term, I have been trying to get out on regular trail loops to keep the ol' cardio in shape. I have also been doing more work with weights and a rowing machine. No matter what kind of rider you are, fitness training is important. Below are some photos of my loop I took today. Thanks to Kona bikes and Goldstream bike shop in Langford for their support.
