Grim Rippers hit the UK shores just before Christmas!

A modern day Christmas miracle?

Okay, probably a slight over-exaggeration... but for a small brand such as Radical Bicycle Co, it's a big deal.

For most, the landing of a 'few' frames may not be big news, but for some, it can mean a lot more. For Radical Bicycle Co, the Grim Ripper see's the brands biggest investment and commitment to a batch.

But why now?

Well, its a fairly simple answer; Diversity in the face of adversity.

Here's what Kieran (the brands Founder) has to say:

''The Grim Ripper came about because I realised the need to strengthen our line up of frames. Our current models achieved more than what we had hoped, but clinging through the inevitable wave of despair the industry faces, with a line up of only boutique options, did limit us. Based on this, I began the plans to introduce a mid-market/more budget friendly to the line up, that would be our first model manufactured outside the UK, opening up our market''

''There's no doubt, this really has been a double edged sword; making our biggest commitment at arguably the worst time in the industry, but one we needed to do....I could have sat on my hands and just hoped we would make it through he rough patch, or actually do something about it.''

''It has been the most stress fuelled roller coaster and has without doubt, put a strain on us physically, mentally and financially... but we did it.... they are here''

With a whole stack of frames that had landed Christmas week, the pressure was on to dispatch those pre-orders. Working through the evenings until 1am, each pre-order was dispatched before the big day. Not bad going hey?

So yes, to a small brand, this was a true Christmas miracle...

What is the Grim Ripper all about?

A versatile short to mid travel steel hardtail, designed to cross the void into a number of categories; the frame is designed around the ability to run all 3x wheel combinations (29/ 27.5/ mullet), and will accept up to 140mm fork. Check out some of the key features below...

- Ability to run multiple wheel sizes from the one frame
- sliding dropouts give +/- 15mm chainstay lengths
- a 63.5deg Headangle
- 77deg Seatube angle
- 2x sizes (regular and long)
- Clearance for up to 2.5inch tires
- Manufactured from select 4130 butted steel
- Frame only: £695.00

Now the frames are here, orders can be dispatched and shipped immediately; a much different approach to the boutique, UK manufactured frames which generally come with a 8-10 week lead time.

Could it be a game change for a small brand? We shall soon see!
