Nationally recognized as one of the best bike parks in the U.S. and offering one of the largest trail systems in the east, Snowshoe Bike Park will open on May 27 and is offering a new Mountain Adventure Pass. MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE PASS

Snowshoe Mountain Resort is now offering a Mountain Adventure Pass, a three consecutive day ticket to check out several adrenaline-inducing activities from Polaris off-road RZR Tours, Segway Tours, Sport Clays and trail access to the Bike Park. In addition, the pass also offers riders a complimentary Introduction to Mountain Biking lesson. For those new to mountain biking, or just need a refresher, the Intro to Biking course is a great place to start. Certified coaches will take groups on an hour and a half adventure and teach riders the skills they’ll need to know to build confidence in the park. A full- suspension bike, full-face helmet, knee and elbow pads and lift ticket are included for the duration of the program. Rental and lift ticket upgrades post lesson are offered based on availability.

“Even if you’ve never been on a mountain bike our goal is to remove any fear about learning to ride,” explains Josh Olson, terrain and bike park manager, Snowshoe Mountain Resort. “This introductory course should ease the rider into the sport and help them gain confidence through a series of mini skill sessions. This class is ideal for anyone new to the sport or someone who needs a refresher on a mountain bike after being strapped to a snowboard all winter.”

NEW TRAIL AND IMPROVEMENTS TO WESTERN TERRORITY

Focused on creating the best riding environment in the east, improvements to the Western Territory include creating a new entrance to this portion of the bike park. The Road Gap, one of Snowshoe’s most popular features is being redesigned and will now be known as the Monster Energy Road Gap. Additionally, a new entrance trail is being built for blue and black riders in an effort to give easier access to the top of Western. Plans also include resurfacing Easy Street and Skyline Trails which will make for smoother riding for those just learning how to downhill. Bike Park organizers are focusing this season on improving the overall trail system in order to expand for bike riders of all abilities. New jumps and berms will be added throughout the park, as well as, all the regular yearly maintenance. The Bike Park Crew is focusing this season on the overall trail system in order to keep our trail network in tip-top shape for bike riders of all abilities.

“If you’re on the east coast, this is the best park for you to learn or hone your skills in downhill or cross-country mountain biking. We have a fantastic blend of easy flowing green trails, blue jumps lines and highly technical black downhill runs. With lessons and rental equipment right here at the resort, we’ve made it as easy as possible to try out this sport,” Olson states.
