JD from Painincorporated.com had this to say- I had always had a passion for film, and had worked on a few projects before leaving to University. The person I worked on these films with went to film school, while I took a more traditional route. Ironically I have returned to film, probably the best way I know, as an independent filmmaker, while my friend never pursued anything further after his formal training.Being both a film fan, and a mountain bike enthusiast I have a lengthy collection of Mountain Bike DVD's. The more I watched the more I realized that I missed filmmaking, and this was an opportunity to combine two things that I loved. The only thing that really bothered me was the cost of making the DVD's. I didn't want to make a film, then have it out there for $45 in the stores. Especially considering I wouldn't be shooting in 16mm. When Apple came out with a cost effective Superdrive (able to burn DVD's) I knew at that point I could independently produce a DVD that would be affordable.

I was living in Peace River, until March 2003, and it wasn't until I moved, that I decided to go ahead with the project. I met Jared Jespesen early on, and I am not sure he knows it, but he got the ball really rolling. Jared got on the "Drop-in Tour", but wanted to film when he got back, so he put me in contact with some other riders, and it grew from there. Most of the guys in the film were introduced by another rider. Guys would say, "you have to film this guy he's really good." Then we would go out and film with them. I am thankful for all the great people that I met and road with this summer.
The film is includes the following riders:
Scott Coccilio
Gavin Conner
Craig Topley
Shawn Grey
"Dangerous" Dave Herr
Sam Jepson
Jared Jespersen
Craig Topley
Steve Tuchiwsky
it will also includes many of the riders we met while filming including Monk and Poppa-D from the USA while filming in Virgin, Utah.
The film was shot in Calgary, Canmore, Red Deer, Las Vegas, Boulder Canyon, Virgin, Lethbridge, and some other places along the way. It also includes footage of the 2003 Red Bull Rampage.
The DVD includes some special features, including photography by Steve Tuchiwsky. Steve is both a talented rider and photographer, as many people already know from seeing much of his work on the internet. Also some "Hidden Features"
The response to people who have seen the film at this point has been great. They seem to enjoy the feel of the film, and were impressed by the talent and diversity of the riders. People have also been generally impressed with the soundtrack and editing as well. All the riders from last years film will likely be returning for "Trail n' Park Boys: Big Tricks, Little Brains", we only hope to attain some level of sponsorship this year for the film. We have also already added some new riders to this years roster, and things are looking very promising for the new film.
The bottom line is I really wanted to make a video for everyone, that was affordable more than anything else, and I think that it was achieved.
Thanks to those who helped contribute to the project- Rod Leland, Jed Paul, Jody Kowalchuk, Brian Park, Lloyd Bjorklund and naturally all the riders.
We are looking for new talent this year as well interested riders can email me Here
