Something that I like is explore paths or trails, either on foot or by mountain bike, and this weekend with a group of friends of mtb had the chance. We had talked about the route we hit a few days ago, but no one knew how difficult it would be neither length or where came, so we were blind, but it is we weren't running much danger of getting lost because there was a frank way which go so least 90% of the route.

We met early on sunday at the meeting place and after waiting a reasonable time to give chance to all get there we start, the first obstacle to overcome was how to start the way from the paved road we could see in the hills the path where we should move, but between us and her few fences of barbed wire that made several paddocks for cattle interposed in the end we managed to locate a step through which could enter the ground and so we did.

Once being inside we approach the hills and see that the road was going to be harder than originally thought, for before us was a slope of at least 35 degrees inclination, which would force us to load the bikes to get to the first electrical tower, I did not tell them that the way in the beginning was a kind of road maintenance of electrical towers, if you can call it road to a path that in its widest reaches two meters and in the thinnest it is a path to a person, we reached the first tower and warned it would probably be like this all the way, there rested a couple of minutes and we continued.

As we thought the path in the sense that we were traveling was pure pretty steep climbs, with loose rock, ditches (sometimes pass by people doing enduro motorbike), roots and steps, which would have made it extremely fun if we where in the contrary way. In some parts there was the possibility riding the bike and enjoy the descent, which at least I do not stop.

After a few hours of travel we reached a place where rocks soil had a curious layout, they were like tombstones and had very sharp, it was like an alien landscape, there was intimidating go down, but I didn't let the chance gone.

Later after up and down several hills, and skirting some peaks reach a point where the road we gone, there was no sign of him, and what we decided was that it would move me to explore a bit and see if he could get a route to get out of there or otherwise reimburse and discuss with the group we would do, ie not find a route we would be lost. As we agreed I forward, first got around of a hill and then started down the other, when I had gone about three hundred meters or so I got an edge and could recognize the terrain, it turns out that he had been in that place some two or three years back then we were also exploring a route as it should lead to a cascade of which we saw a little way from the top, but not down but we gave back and later a villager we would say that this was the way.

I should report to the group and started down, where we did the slope was very steep, very loose terrain but also some hopped on bikes and face this fall it was quite technical, when the end of the part more difficult we get a stream which was a relief because we had more than five hours without finding a source of water and some they had no more.

Thereafter was to follow the path, which we found again, to enter a forest within the is to blur and it was unclear where we should go, at that time I was indicating the route, so I was aware of everything and on more than one occasion I had to assert as small signs like a leaf or a broken branch out and time to figure out where to go, I can not deny that I felt like a true explorer, when we arrived at a somewhat larger river that the previous and saw a hose that was on one of its banks felt relief, because it was a sign that not far from there was to be a house or other human settlement.

We rode downriver always aware of where he was the hose to reach a frank way again and later to a waterfall that several members of the group acknowledged, a relief there a known road no were but a few hundred meters, the which we covered with good cheer until a cellar where we bought something to fool hunger, because we had been at least six hours of journey without eating anything.

From there it was just down a dirt road to where this was with the paved road and then wait until we come to look for this one of the companions called his wife and asked him to pick us up in his pick up , really was a gesture appreciated, but because we had touched pedaling into town tired and hungry for ma twenty kilometers.

Despite having been an exhausting experience, sometimes despaired in general I can say it was something nice that hardly forget and also refreshes and reminds what the spirit of mountain biking is.
