Bicycle centre light mount.

Finally !

So winter is here! This means out comes the bicycle lights from the gloomy cupboards and deep depths or our garages and to make there way back onto our mountain bikes so we can carry on shredding through the dark.
But if your a well seasoned rider there has always been one little niggle that comes with certain bar mounted bike lights, because of the sweep and rise on most bars these days means your bike light never actually concentrate its beam central to where you ride and depending on what side you place the light depends on what side your light has wasted lighting up the trees and bushes and this only worsens once you hit some rough trails and the light seams to wonder even further off center, not to mention that because the light is situated on a slight bend and sweep every time you press the toggle buttons to adjust your brightness the light moves even more !

So being a well seasoned mountain biker i got my thinking cap on. (i was careful don't worry)
It was clear to me that some how the light needed to be central to the bars but the stem was in the way ! now we have all seen certain mounts for bike try and clamp next the stem via different clamps and lean over to the center of the stem etc etc but i have never seen anything to cater for lights with rubber strap mounts. such as my light which is a magicshine MJ880u ltd edition.

So i had an idea in my head it was rough but it was there.

This is where the brains of the idea come in, Tony (my friend) the guy that can take my rough ideas and transform it in to precise awesomeness.
He did just that !!

His latest hobby is 3D printing and wow his good at it.. (his an engineer by trade) so you can imagine his had a life of finding resolutions for problems.
After 10 minutes of back and forth chit chat we had got the measurements needed and a design that would look awesome and be strong enough to with stand the modern mountain biker.

The next day comes and i go and see Tony, he opens his front door and there in his hands sits the rough idea i had in my head the previous day but what he held in his hand was real and precisely made. It looked great !!

So you can imagine what happens next ! It got fitted to my mountain bike.... Ive attached some pictures so everyone can see.

Quite a cool bit of kit Smile
My preferred set up at moment is my Hope R4 on the bars as it has quite a wide spread and my cheap eBay unit helmet mounted.
