how strange would it be to run 26" wheels on the 27.5 frame? has anyone done it? it would be a stop gap measure while my wallet attempts to recover.

also thanks for the input everyone.

Not at all as strange as you would think....

NS Eccentric & Surge evo's are 27.5" frames that are compatible with 26" wheels.
And yes, I have tried it and, surprisingly, the eccentric is better on 26" wheels.

NS Eccentric with 26 Wheels
With: 26" wheels

NS Eccentric finished and ready ride
With 27.5" wheels

Bit of a weird set up you have there, just used for cruising about im guessing?

Really like that frame though.
Yes, was racing BMX on it, but stopped. Tried to sell it but no legit offers. So decided I still wanted to enjoy it so it's a cruiser bike. But I can switch the seats and still run the track or park if I want.

Well if it's a "dying trend" buy some 27.5". I like 26". Plus if you put 26" on a 27.5" your geo will be effected. Plus those 27.5" already have low bottom brackets.

Well if it's a dying trend, then I'm starting a legit strictly 26" frame and rim company......

NS Eccentric size M, 26" wheels 160mm lyrik, geo is spot on but pretty low bb, high volume 2.3" tires would be great

New wheels, hubs and tyres on the Eccentric, and a couple of matching blue Hope bits.

It's a 150mm. But is dual position so can go to 120mm as well, if I ever remember that while riding.

To be fair I've only ridden the bike 3 times so far due to being a whore for swapping parts and the shitty weather here the last several weeks. I've only put it in 120mm once, while stood still just because I wanted to see it. I imagine it will be useful on some climbs though as the front is fairly high feeling for me.
