I have to say I looks fine with the 26" wheels on...hard to imagine a 650b fitting in the rear..Does it have good rear tyre clearance with 650b?...and you still using a 650b fork or is it an older 26" fork that also fits 650b?

It's funny as I was wondering about running my Stanton SB with 26" wheels so I can get the proper rear tyre clearance to run a wider rear tyre..was just a thought though.

All of the other pics of it are with 650's, the clearance is huge! (not rubbing it in or course! Big Grin )
That is a 650 fork, but with a large 2.4 nobby on the front.

I thought that i would try the eccentric with 26" wheels rather than the 27.5" that i built it with. First impressions, I think it rides better with the smaller wheels.
I will give it a good run out next week and see.

Nice. Everything should be lower then, right? Looks cool.

Its all good, not too much lower as the 2.4 nobby nics have a huge profile, but it rides better with the smaller wheels.

ahh, can you put into words the feeling between the two for those of us too poor to try for ourselves? it must steer quicker with smaller wheels? bigger wheels slower to get going?

Haha! I just stole the wheels from my sons Cotic! lol Yesh, it steers quicker, it feels zippier from the off and generally more nimble. I wasn't sure if it would work at first as it is a big long frame, but surprisingly it worked very well!
My son is having a new bike for his birthday in early feb, so I will reclaim my fox 34's and put them on the NS with the 26" wheels!

 lol Cheers!

On a full sus I am sold on 27.5" my patrol is truly spectacular, but on HT's I am still not sure. I think it depends alot on type of trails / terrain that you're riding. I think that there is certainly a case for have a bike like this eccentric and swapping the wheels over accordingly (if that makes sense)

I would sure like to try a 27.5+ hardtail. Even a 29 hardtail would be fun. Those applications make sense to me. We have nothing but roots and rocks where we are and if you take away the rear travel, rolling power can really come in handy. I think the ragley big wig allows both. Trouble is, I don't know how long or if 27.5+ will last. Rim and tire choice might be limiting in the long run. Let's face it the long run is probably only a few years. Not sure if there's a future proof frame out there for me!

Baggy, totally with you on the 'if it ain't broke' thing. I just get giddy when I think about bikes of any kind. I buy what I can afford and play in both the new and used markets to satisfy my purchasing wants! I love riding, bikes and thinking about riding and bikes.

if money were no object i would buy two of every bike out there! @conv3rt there was a time i thought selling my 'pk ripper' bmx was the right thing to do, how wrong i was...i love all bikes, some more than others but riding is riding and i can't get enough. it's really cool to hear about the new tech/sizes/designs etc from PB buddies as im still spinning the old stuff about...Smile
