On the topic of Lucas Oil, has anyone used automotive wheel bearing grease in their cup and cone hubs?

Yep, works great.

My lbs likes to use specific shimano wheel grease. It's thinner so apparently it rolls better.

I only ride gravity assisted stuff so I don't really bother with the shimano stuff, but for road or Xc it could make a big difference

Hi there!

I'm looking for some help on a forks replacement.

So I got a RM flatline 1 2009 that I'm gonna get hooked with a Rock Shox Toteme (1.5'' steering tube)

I got my stem already and since I got a Rock shox Domain before ( 1 1/8'' ) I need to get a new heatset.

Looking around here and there I cannot figure out which kind I need.

Too much info... integrated/non integrated, headser or head cup?

I asked my mechanics here in Whistler and they said it's all good and it will fit but I wanna know if i need headcups, how I know which kind i need etc.

They will get it installed I just want some light over this matter.

Cheers!!!

There might just be a reducer you can put in. It's like a sleeve that sits in the 1.5 bearing, reducing the inside diameter to 1 1/8th

They work great and are cheaper then a whole new headset

Nope, he needs a headset. He currently has a 1 1/8, and the new fork is a 1.5

1 1/8" - 1 1/2" integrated FSA Orbit Z 1.5R

This should be the model you currently have, unless its been replaced at some point. But you will need a new headset as stated. The cups are for 1 1/8 steer tube.

Hi guys jus a quick 1 regarding spring rate....
Im quite a big lad and am looking at upgrading my rear spring, my current is 450x3.25. I have found some 600x3.25 but they are out of stock, they also have listed 650x3.19 so my question is, am I going to completely ruin my shock if I run a spring with a difference in spring rate as its a pretty minimal difference ??
Cheers guys & gals

I take it your current shock is a fox spring.....

Fox label the coil at bind so a fox 3.25 will be the same as most other shocks labed 3.00 most shocks label at stroke not bind. what stroke length is the shock?

But no a 3.19 should not cause any issues.

I like to mix half Petro-based grease then mix in normal Mobil1 5w-30, you get a really great slick, semi-runny thin product. Can completely skip that sluggish break-in with cassettes, bearings, etc.

Use old pads and a wedge. Caliper down lever up.

Or cardboard. Anything that fits really you don't need a specific brake block.

With a Shimano HG81 SLX 10 Speed Cassette, can I use any 10 speed chain?
Shimano says HG chain only, but I suspect that's BS.

Yes, any 10spd chain will work.
