I am trying to consider a bike for my wife and it would seem silly at this point to spend more then a grand on a bike for her given how much she rides, and also given that i just spent 1,400 on a bike for myself.

She wants to get more exercise and have a bike that is more reliable for her plus I want to take her for rides.. I have a Cyclocross bike and a downhill bike and a bmx for myself.

So! my question is.......

how would you rate a road bike with an aluminum fork? I am considering this trek.

but i am wondering how much of a difference would a carbon fork make to my wife? her current ride that she will never ride again is canadian tire special with horrible geometery.

Unsecure image, only https images allowed: http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d44/bryanteeuwen/trek.pngwould an aluminum fork be way to rigid for someone to ride comfortably? I want her to enjoy the bike she will be getting but i want to budget about $900.00 max including taxes.
