Foot position/ riding style difficulties

Hey,
I am not sure if this is too important or not, I look at most riders doing tricks on bikes such as no foot cans, tail whips and other tricks where foot positioning is crucial I guess?

Now just for example, the no foot can, I am right handed 100% ride with my left foot forwards also while jumping, I see riders who ride with their left foot forwards throwing the legs to the right when doing cans, but for me it only feels comfortable going left, will this effect the trick at all? and if it does how can I fix it?

And the tail whip, most rider swing the frame (left foot forward) with their back right foot (frame spins clockwise), but I feel as If I want to swing the frame right not left? (anti clockwise) I have no Idea what this means I am not sure. It seems impossible to swing it with my left foot.

Just another side note, I ride skateboards in goofy foot and kick with my left foot, my friends tell me I have a really unique style of riding with my feet. as they kick with their right foot.

Will this sort of style affect tricks in a way? should I just learn to perform tricks the other way? This might seem extremely difficult to understand but maybe someone can help, Thanks a lot Big Grin

I also ride left-foot-forward, but skateboard right foot forward.

In BMX, if you do an opposite tailwhip on a quarterpipe/halfpipe or street bank, it's called a "downside tailwhip" because the bike spins in the direction closer to the ground rather than above the rider....

Former pro bmx'er Taj Mihelich was pretty famous for doing them.

Youre fine. Do what feels comfortable theres no right or wrong way as long as you land the trick and it looks clean. I throw bars the wrong way and its never affected my riding, if anything it just looks unique and gives you a style.

Yeah cheers guys, I was just thinking that maybe some tricks needed to be executed in a certain way with a certain foot I guess, but I'll try and learn it the way I ride.
