Sharing a route from Trailforks ride planner?

In Trailforks ride planner, is there a way to share a route that I created without making it a public route (which requires some sort of approval process)? I'd just like to create a route and email a link to some friends, but I don't see any way to do this. As far as I can tell, the "save & share" button only saves.

From the Ride planner if you "save & share" then you can share the URL in your browser.

But if it does not work to save and share? Nothing happens when trying one of the three buttons "download gps", "print" or "Save & share" after making a Ride Plan according to the tutorial. I have a Ride Plan and can see all the data but cant save it. What am I doing wrong?
