So Having checked maxxis website & venders like chain reaction it looks like the minion / high rollers are now only available up to 2.5" profile on a 26" wheel .

Does anyone know if there are any other brands out there still offering the slightly more rotund tyre size ??

Ahh okI read somewhere the 2.7 minions were on the small side, or are the magic marys large for a 2.5?

My best guess is that Maxxis takes their measurements from the outside of the tire casing and that Schwalbe measures the inside or at least measures a bald casing (not counting the tread height).

I have 2.35 Schwalbe Magic Mary's that look just about the same as my 2.5 Maxxis Minions and my 2.5 Magic Mary looks much larger. About what I would expect a 2.7 Maxxis would be.

DHF and DHR2 do come in 26x2.8 in their plus lineup, would probably feel wonky unless you run them on 35mm ID rims at minimum...

Kenda makes the Nevegal Pro in 26x 2.7. I've used it as a front tire and it is griiiiiiiiiiippppyyyy!!

I've just.got.some cheepy 2.5" vee rubbers on my norco at mo for the daily commute to work but wanted to put some decent rubber on for the summer. Previously owned a couple of fat bikes both ridged & full sus so got used to having a large footprint.
