Does anybody know anywhere in Ontario, mainly around Toronto, where you can ride a snowbike/snowscoot.
I want to buy one but there is no point if you can't ride it anywhere....
So far i've contacted: Mt. St. Louis Moonstone: Definite no Bluemountain, Collingwood: Definite no Horseshoe valley resort: No reply yet Glen Eden: No reply yet
I dont think they have any reason to not allow them I think they've just never had to deal with them so they just aren't on the list. Kinda like asking a ski hill if you can take a GT snow racer down the slopes, they probably consider snowscoots/snowbikes as a toboggan
How did you attach the board the the dropouts and fork on that bike?
It's hard to tell from this picture, but I think he just took the trucks from the skateboard and screwed them in upside down (Instead of screwing them in from the top, he screwed them in from the bottom. Basically, he put the trucks on the top of the skateboard instead) and then bolted the trucks to the bike forks.
I've been snow biking lake louise and sunshine for 3 years now you have too get a approved device pass at lake louise and your not aloud on one chair lift and there gondola, and at sunshine you don't need a device pass there but you are limited too around 5 chair lifts only there!
Decided to build a ski bike with my old DH rig, 03' A-Line, fabbed the brackets at work yesterday, and mocked it up for fitment. Heres what it looked like mocked up, just gotta paint the brackets and skis, and set up the footpegs.
you may want to get better skis after the first day
And you may want to lower the mounts. When I did mine, I figured you can make them about as high as your travel minus your bb height. So proabaly like 6-7 inches for your bike since it has a high bb.
At 514BMX shop in Montreal we just put together a custom Snowbike using a Drifter Snowbike kit. I shot a video "How To" for people interested about the kit.
