The Diamondback DF5 Team recently headed up for our annual pilgrimage to Whistler, British Columbia for the 10th annual Crankworx event. As always there was epic shredding and shenanigans. The highlight again this year was Kelly McGarry’s involvement in the Redbull Joyride Competition which was nothing short of awesome. Check out this behind the scenes edit of the events leading up to , and Kelly’s 10th place run.
Just gotta say, if you're a serious rider you would not be buying a bike from DICKS, such low end quality pieces of shit. Although better than Wal-Mart but lets not kid ourselves I could make a better bike than a Wal-Mart bike from twigs
IF DICKS is selling the DB Mission it is not a low end quality POS it is still a DB Mission and its a great bike both for the price ad quality. I have had a 2010 Mission and now currently own a 2012 Scapegoat and there is nothing low end quality POS about it. Also their customer service has been in my experience quite exceptional.
Now does DICKS or Scheels or Sport Authority or REI have low end bikes in the line up? Yes they do. Good news you don't have to buy them. Scheels next to my house has Rocky Mountain and Kona, DICKS in Moorpark Calif had DB and thats where I fell in love with the Mission.
If you can't tell quality from low end quality POS when you walk into a DICKS you just might be one.
Agree with mojojo...DB's quaility has come way up. I did a complete build with a 2012 Sortie Black frame and the thing is awesome! Climbs well, jumps well, and crushes the downhill. The bike is pretty bulletproof, especially for coming in around 27lbs, don't knock it until you try it.
Cool story bro. Diamondback makes some lower end bikes, and they also make some top quality bikes. Big props to them for trying to get quality products out to all reaches of the market. I have more respect for a company that sells at big box stores as well as high end products than a company who claims their "budget" model is only $2800. Not everyone wants or needs a four thousand dollar bike.
Actually i think DB makes good bikes. They don't Usually stock the high end models at DICKS but you can still order the nice ones if you ask. Much respect to DB
year after year Kelly gets invited to these events. His skill level has improved, but not nearly enough to be mixing it at comp level. Step aside and let some fresh blood move in.
