Well I just got word from James at
Giant Bicycle about this new and exciting line of 2004 Giant Hardtails! The STP line, which stands for Street/Trail/Park, can be use at your local Dirt Jump park, for those street sessions or even as a competitive Dual or 4X bike.STP1: $1000 retail. 110mm Marz Drop-Off SC fork, 8spd, Rhynolite rims,
Hussefelt 22/32/bash crank, Avid CPS discs, Kenda K-Rad 2.3 tires
STP2: $600 retail, 100mm Marz MZ Comp fork, V-brakes, Alex DM24 rims, Kenda K-Rad 2.3 tires
STP3: $400 retail, SR fork, cheaper stuff, mostly the "poser" bike, Kenda K-Rad 2.3 tires
The STP1 and STP2 share the same frame, uses the headtube/downtube off of
the AC bikes. A super-crazy strong chainstay yoke setup. TT is pierced
by the ST, making a much stronger joint than just slapping a couple of
gussets on there.
STP3 uses a cheaper frame, normal headtube (non-integrated headset),
still has the pierced TT though. And for $400 retail, damn.
All models come in 2 sizes, Regular and Large. The STP2 and STP3 are out now, and the STP1 will probably be available in 2-3 weeks.
For more information you can either visit your local Giant Dealer or visit their web site at

All prices shown in the article are in U.S. dollars. For those in the Canadian market the suggested retail pricing for the Canadian STP line is $1299 for the STP 1 and $749 for the STP 2, unfortunately the STP 3 is unavailable.
