The Italian mountain resort, Livigno has barely melted away the last of the snow and already mountain bikers are looking forward to an action packed season. Road bikers are the first to enjoy the winding roads and landscape during the Schwalbe TOUR Transalp and Tinkoff Sports Academy. Mountain bikers will hit the single trails during the Adventure Awards Days and National Park Bike Marathon in August as well as the Enduro Cup in September. We can expect even more amazing images and videos from the freeride spectacle, Suzuki Nine Knights.

Shortly appearing from around the hairpin will be the steel legged Schwalbe TOUR Transalp powered by Sigma participants. The fourth stage, known as the “Queen stage” passes Livigno from June 30th to July 1st. The racers will have to ride 142.86 km/ 89 mi and 3475 vertical meters over five passes, from Livigno to Aprica. The expected 1200 participants should prepare themselves for steep climbs and wild descents, which are peppered with breathtaking views. More information can be found at www.tour-transalp.de/.

Aspiring road cyclists should save the date for the "Tinkoff Sport Academy" training weeks. The Team Tinkoff-Saxo, including Alberto Contador, Peter Sagan and Ivan Basso, have chosen Livigno as their preparation ground for the season due to its high altitude - 1816 m/ 5958 ft. above sea level. The academy weeks (July 4th to 11th and 11th to 18th, August 1st to 8th, August 29th to September 5th) will whip aspiring road cyclists into shape. During the course, a Team Tinkoff-Saxo coach, a mechanic and a masseur will be at your disposal and give guidance. The week long training camp includes professional coaching, performance evaluation and afternoon sessions with some of the professionals. More information and reservations for the "Tinkoff Sport Academy" can be found at www.livigno.eu/de/tinkoff-sport-academy.

The Adventure Awards Days from July 27th to August 2nd are all about riding from sunrise to sunset! The unique 3K Up & Down event on August 2nd, is presented by the Adventure Awards, Carosello 3000 and crankbrothers. The principle is simple: 1 Pro-Rider, 100 participants, 2 lifts, a 13 km/ 8 mi long trail and 7 hours to ride as much as possible. How many times can you take the lift up and bike down in 7 hours? The Carosello 3000 bike trails will keep you entertained all day, but can you keep up?

Also, from July 31st to August 1st European Bicycle Adventure Meeting (BAM!) will offer workshops, group bike trips and yoga classes, as well as afternoon concerts and parties to keep mountain bikers entertained. The (BAM!) program is full of attractive activities. More information about the Adventure Awards Days is available at www.adventureawards.it.

The high flying highlight of the season will be the Suzuki Nine Knights from August 31st to September 5th. It is the 5th edition of this mega-freeride event in Livigno and the event organizer Andi Wittmann has tweaked the set-up to ensure another amazing contest. The castle will get an incredible facelift and airtime is guaranteed. 18 of the world's best freeriders are already invited plus the wildcard winners of the "Become A Knight Video Competition". Anton Thelander, Peter Henke, Sam Reynolds, Sam Pilgrim, Szymon Godziek, Geoff Gulevich and Tobi Wrobel don’t want to miss this spectacle and have already confirmed their participation.
