by Jaka Tancik
The eagerly awaited beginning of the third SloEnduro season is just around the corner. It is all about to start for the third time with Enduro 3 Camini this weekend near Trieste in Bagnoli, San Dorligo Della Valle. This coastal event is growing constantly year by year and there is no difference this year. After moving the event venue to Bagnolilast year and including a stage starting in Slovenia and finishing in Italy in Val Rosandra, the event this season will be even more spectacular.

Main venue of the event will once again be in front of France Prešeren theatre, San Dorligo Della Valle.

Two day schedule with 8 special stages

Two entire days of racing await the riders and no less than eight special stages with total length of 56km and 2000m of altitude. Riders will head across the border to Slovenia both days of racing. On Saturday they will have to climb to the start of first stage in Beka, while on Sunday they will have to undergo a stage starting in Socerb. Both stages are starting on Slovenian side of the border and finishing in Italy.

Anže Žabjek could be one of the candidates for high ranking.

The organisers, team A.S.D. 360Mtb, did a really great job this year with the trail selection. Most of them will take place on slopes under Socerb and in Val Rosandra, both places with excellent but tough terrain. Two stages are still going to take place at Cattinara, the original venue in first two editions.

Last year's action in video by Rok Markuš:

Who are the favourites?

Presence at Enduro 3 Camini was already confirmed by last year's winner, Orbea Enduro Crew rider, Vid Peršak who had to skip almost the whole 2014 season due to an injury, but he is coming back ready for new success. First candidate to spoil Peršak's plans is last year's SloEnduro champ, Nejc Rutar (Unior Tools Team) with his teammate Anže Žabjek. Peter Mlinar (KK Črn Trn) and Tadej Razpet (Pedal Racing) who are eager for a win, while Kristijan Medvešček, last year's SloEnduro winner, is going to skip the first race due to problems with team registration. On the entry list we can also find a well known name, the multiple 4X World Champion, Michal Prokop (Specialized) who is a strong rival for a victory, as well as Primoz Strancar (Orbea), fastest master of the EWS in 2014.

Is Vid Peršak ready for another win in Enduro 3 Camini?

In the women's competition, absence from the race was confirmed by winner of last two seasons, Ana Zupan (Energijateam.com), who plans to take a break from racing this year. So the strongest candidate for the win seems to be the Austrian, Birgit Braumann (Trek Gravity Girls), but also Nina Rupnikk (SportR.si) is faster and faster each race and she is going to be one of the main favorites for the win. Anyway, the whole winter passed since the last race, so we can expect a bunch of strong riders going for a win. We won't get bored, that's for sure.

SloEnduro 2015
Nina Rupnik is getting faster every year. Can this season be hers? She'll give us her first answer this weekend.

Start on Saturday at 13.00 in Bagnoli

The ride on Saturday will start at 13.00 in Bagnoli, San Dorligo Della Valle, not far from Trieste.
