You as in YOU, Like This as in This, and This is a new mountain bike film from Squamish’s Art Barn Film to premiere via Pinkbike to the world this Spring!
‘You Like This’ focuses on a group of riders who live and ride in the
coastal mountains of British Columbia, no not the Sunshine coast…it rains here. Art Barn was committed to working with a very core group of riders, representing many different aspects of our sport, from trail builders, to World Cup racers, to free riders and a dirt jumper. However different their styles; the riders all share the unique goal of pushing further into the back country, riding unique natural terrain or exploring infamous trails. The film worked closely with the riders through the Spring, Summer, Fall and early Winter of 2010, following them as they scout new spots; build their lines and race against the weather to shoot them all. ‘You Like This’ was shot primarily in Squamish, as well as Pemberton, Cache Creek, Mission, Spence’s Bridge and North Vancouver. The riders featured in ‘You Like This’ are: Kevin Landry, Miranda Miller, Jeremy Norris, Dan Skogland, Ewan Fafard, Connor MacDougall, Taylor Bloy, Dennis Beare and Andrew Teit.
Art Barn has partnered exclusively with Pinkbike.com for the Online World Premiere of You Like This. Debuting later this Spring, You Like This will be broadcast via the web to the world!
Chances are you have seen
Art Barn’s work in the past on Pinkbike.com as they have released several stealth VODs over the years. Some of the highlights include Jeremy Norris, Kevin Landry, D-Rock Chambers, and in the infamous ‘Living Dirty’ teaser. If you watched any of the
Whistler Creek Crankworx coverage, or the last 4
Alterna Action’s snowboard films you have enjoyed Taylor Loughran’s filming work.
For ‘You Like This’, Art Barn was committed to greatly increasing the production value of their film. They have utilized some of the best camera technologies in action sports, including the Red platform and the heli mounted Cini-Flex. In the further commitment to production value, Art Barn will again be working with Justin Hannewyk of Precip Productions, and Jon Hunnwick for post production work. Art Barn will also involve Toronto’s Epic Productions, who will mix and create the film’s soundscape.

To introduce the riders of ‘You Like This’ we asked them all the same three questions; 1- Who are you? (a bit of a loaded question)
2- How did you get involved in the ‘You Like This’ project?
3- What do You Like most about This?
World Cup Racer, Miranda Miller
1- Miranda Miller is my name and I am a downhill racer from Squamish. Believe it.
2- I have no idea really...I think Taylor and I talked about filming every time we saw each other and both being large procrastinators never really did...until You Like This came along.
3- I Like most about This is that You Like This as much as
We all Like This. Andrew Teit thinking about a mustache ride.
1- Andrew Teit...a lanky alien who enjoys riding bikes, playing guitar, and lawn bowling.
2- My involvement in "You Like This" can be traced back to an early 2010 Spring ride with Kevin, wherein I broke a tree with my collar bone. This day led to a friendship and, eventually to myself living at Art Barn HQ in Squamish. BC
3- What I "like the most about this" is the amazing scenery that I was forced to be around for the months and months it took to create this film.
Andrew going where he wasn't supposed to be.
Connor MacDougall, ready to dig and ride.
1- Connor MacDougall- I’m a 17-year-old High School senior riding out of Squamish, B.C.
2-
I met Taylor at our local dirt jumps in the Spring, he got a hold of me this Fall to see if I wanted to shoot a segment for the movie and it was on like Donkey-Kong!
3- I like that everyone involved in the movie is pretty tight, and that the riders build most of the segments.

1- My name is Taylor Bloy and I have been a Hayes bicycle group test rider for the last 6 years.
2- My friend Kevin Landry was in my hometown for a DH race, after practice we decided to go ride a trail my two friends had built. After riding it Kevin said, "I have to get my buddy Taylor to come down here and film you and Ewan on this trail" and that was that.
3- It's just another chance to ride one of my bikes and I can almost never give up a chance to ride my bike.

1- Ewan Fafard and I build trails all year and race when I can.
2- Kevin Landry saw the trail ‘The Lorax’ that I'd built and thought it would make an excellent segment in the film.
3- ‘You Like This’ gives me an opportunity to showcase some of the building I’ve done over the last few years and gives me a chance to show how I like to ride.
Mountain bike rider, Jeremy Norris

My name is Jeremy Norris, I live in Squamish, BC. I ride DH, All Mountain and XC and like to push myself in all aspects of the sport.

I had heard of Art Barn a while back and had seen many of his edits online. When I finally met up with Taylor last year we decided to do a quick edit in November just as the snow and rain began to hit. Working on this short edit was pretty cool as we only started filming after the season had already ended for most riders.
This year, after riding all Summer, Taylor started talking about filming a movie with some of the local riders. Throughout the Summer I had built a few cool lines which I felt would look awesome on film. I rode and built with the crew in the late Summer and we started filming in the early Fall. The filming started in the alpine overlooking the Howe Sound. Once we got the alpine filming done, there was a ton of motivation to keep building and filming into the early Winter.

Working on this film was a good opportunity to ride with a bunch of awesome riders, in some amazing locations. For me, the part I enjoyed most about filming with this crew was developing some super unique lines. It was cool watching each zone develop from an idea, to a complete line, to something that was a blast to ride. Each rider had their own ideas and opinions on how a line would work out. In the end, nothing beats shredding new trails, with good friends and awesome scenery, I LIKE THIS.

whats the point of putting this "trailer" together. if your gonna do one, wait until you have the footage done and dusted so its worth while watching and actually builds some excitement. they call it a "teaser" to get you interested.
dont get me wrong - the photos and article are all good. but how someone can say "The trailer is SOOOOO SICK !!!" makes me wonder if i saw the same film?
rant over
p.s. pessimism aside, all the best for the film!
p.s. nice to see that racism kicks in when someone disagrees.
