You sure? It is the darkest color, the result of the absence of or complete absorption of light. It is the opposite of white and often represents darkness in contrast with light. But who cares.
I see your point. But what's technically defined as a color is what's visible on the rainbow (roygbiv) everything other than that is considered a shade. But that's just an artist perspective not scientific.
