Whistler Crankworx Dual Slalom 2019. Thomas Slavik and I were the first two on track — we took several runs together an talked bikes, gear, and the Golden Era of Downhill and Dual Slalom / 4X. Turns out my Minion Maxx Grip DH tires and Mavic D521 wheel setup was 3.5 pounds heavier than his higher pressure (30/33psi) Minion / Minion SS Maxx Terra EXO 26” setup — which made a MASSIVE difference on track. My wheels/tires were straight up slow. No one knew what the track was going to be like, and I would’ve run a light setup like his had I known. Fun riding and talking with him both days...super cool dude.
