the two are joind in the frame. the bottom 1 is softer so as you land that takes about 75% of the landing (depending how hard it is) then the top one takes any large force as it is alot harder then botton shock and is better than nothing.

Looks like something from like 2002. Not the nicest looking peice of machinery, although it is nice and complicated looking which is kinda cool.

can someone explain how the second shock has any action ?
  • 1 0
the first shock is attached to it, I guess
  • 3 0
so when the first bottoms out, it has the second to have a bit more of travel
  • 2 0
" It is there to work with the back shock to prevent harsh bottoming. It is activated about a 2/3 of the way through the travel."
  • 1 0
 you said it

Where the first shock pivots ,where you can't see it under the frame , they are actually attached . The Guy , Karpiel, was an Air craft landing gear engineer ,who holds several patents. The deal is the two link braces holding the Frame together are way shorter than a FSR linkage ,which makes it's stronger . It's called parallel linkage . This design was the predicessor to the DW link . So the new disco must pedal like a muther , because the shock is near the BB ,giving it minimal pedal bob .

You'll no longer need a landing transition !

 talk about overkill, but intriguing.
  • 1 3
why put a float in the back on a 12 inch travel FR bike to help with a less harsh bottom out? its an XC or AM rear shock, not FR.
  • 1 0
 How much does it cost??
