If this is the newest evo titanium something bomber, i have read somewhere that they are thinned and lighted something like For Racing Only.. Rampage definnitly is not a rece Anyway i will never buy 888's not because they brake sometimes.. Just dont like the company and their "style"
don't be daft. if it's not good enough for that guy at the red bull rampage then it's not good enough for me. my 888's will be on ebay within the hour. fucking death trap.
my bad. I only saw one broken fork in the rampage and it was doerfling's that i saw. was unaware that hopkins broke his too. its looking like the 888 isn't as strong as it once was.
bobish it didt kinda do a 62 ft gap and get bailed on the lip on the landing so the full force whent on the forks im surprized the forks broke before the headtube tho
there was an other cracked 888 at the rampage...James Doerfling mashed up his fork too with a not too precise landing...but it wasn't like a mistake when you should snap your fork..soo the quality of the 888 is questionable I guess...
That kind of riding will destroy any fork on the market (boxxers, 888's, 40's) what have you. It doesn't mean it's a bad fork by any means. I'd love to see you do that to a Marzocchi without a hammer.
true but the crashes the 888's were involved in were all different as well. not to mention most of the other forks were put under those different types of situations as well and held up fine, just proving that the 888's fell short of the others
colin, they whernt put under the same situations because evry crash is different! but either way, im going to stop defending 888, if you think theyre weaker than boxxers its your opinion
Hummertm, it's all good. More power to you if you can do that to a fork, I suppose. I was just stating that I don't believe a vast majority of people on this site can do this to a fork. If you can, you've proved me wrong. I ride a dj3 and I love it personally. Maybe the new 888's just aren't as strong, but I bet you can be assured that after seeing this Marzocchi is looking at their design again.
